    Hi Stacey,

I have a 16 month old daughter who has very curly hair with a very dry scalp. I have to oil her scalp daily. She has breakage around her neckline and also around the front. I am new to your products and I would like to know what do you suggest I use on her hair that will help it to grow and not stay so dry.

    Hi Ms. Johnson -

I’m a little concerned that you are oiling your daughter’s scalp daily and wondering if you could be doing more harm than good. What are you oiling her scalp with? Is she flaking? I would also be curious as to how often you are washing her hair and is the shampoo to harsh for her. Although I don’t have much information to go on I would highly recommend the Daily Oil Moisturizer and the LaPhoono Gently Loc Cleanser. I’ve been using both of these products on my own daughter’s hair since about 5 months. I would discontinue oiling her scalp and try massaging a little rosemary oil into her sclap 20 mins before washing her hair. Use a little Daily Oil Moisturizer in her hair every day or every other day. Make sure you are not using stiff bristle brushes on her hair.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Is it true that once your hairline becomes thin or balding because of perms and braids, that their is nothing to help the hair to grow back?

Hi. I am concerned about the health of my hair. It is a decent length, but I tend to have a lot of split ends. I get it professionally relaxed every 6-7 weeks and otherwise maintain it on my own. Sometimes I airdry it and then hit it with the blowdryer the next morning followed by either curling the ends only or curling my entire head with a large barreled curling iron. I do use a heat protectant prior to both of these procedures. Other times I roller set it and sit under my hooded dryer. I try to deep condition it each time I wash (which is weekly) and I get my ends trimmed with each relaxer. And I sleep on a satin pillow case and try to keep it up most of the times. I think I do a good job keeping the ends moisturized, but despite all of this, I still tend to have a lot of split ends. What am I doing wrong? Am I not using the right hair products? My friend recently informed me about the effects of mineral oil & petroleum in hair products, so I recently got rid of all my daily moisturizes and invested in a product that didn’t have either of these. Also, I have a 17 month old son who has very coarse hair than tends to be very dry despite my efforts to moisturize it daily. Do you have a product that I can use on his hair. Please help me. I am very interested in having healthy hair. I would love to maintain my length (it’s past my shoulders), but I’m more concerned with it being healthy and getting rid of (and keeping them gone) the split ends. Thanks!

    Hi Tricia –

split ends are a fact of life and there is no way your will ever be without a split end. Split ends occur from wear and tear on the hair such as combing, curling blow drying, certain types of shirts or sweaters that may snag the hair. To minimize split ends keep the heat out of our hair, make sure the keep your hair moisturized. A good thing is to apply moisturizer to your ends before wrapping or putting your hair up for the night.

As for your son, my Daily Oil moisturizer or my Amazing oil would help to soften his hair and also be mindful of the baby shampoos they can be harsh and drying on the hair.

    Thanks,
    Stacey

    Hi LibbyJewels -

No, it’s not true that once you’ve damaged your hairline via braids and weaves, etc that your hair line won’t grow back. It will really depend on whether or not you’ve damaged the hair follicle beyond repair. Several things that you could try would be peppermint, rosemary, sage essentials oil and or carrot seed oil and massage these into your scalp twice a day try and stimulate the follicle. In addition you can try taking biotin and MSM supplements which aid in hair growth. You have to be diligent as it may take months to see evidence that it is indeed working.

    Thanks,
    Stacey

Hi Stacey! I forgot to ask earlier. Is the shampoo/conditioner in the deluxe starter kit ok to use on my 17 month old son?

Stacy, I am loving your website more and more everytime I explore it. Needless to say, I am truly addicted to it; it’s like another Facebook for me, very addictive. Your website offers so much wonderful and useful information. I have come to learn more about hair and the proper care just going thru your site alone than I did from all of my hairdressers put together. So, I just want to thank you so much, first of all.

For the first time, I am actually feeling confident about saving my money and doing my own relaxers or letting one of those beauty school students do it, because for years, my hairdressers have made me feel like I was the one doing something wrong and that they were my hair’s only hope for survival, rather than educating me more. But then again, I guess you can’t teach what you may not know or they just wanted to keep making their money.

I had sent an email to you on Thursday with comments and questions. I do apologize that it was a bit long. I was wondering if you had gotten it, since I hadn’t gotten a response, not to sound impatient because I know that you are quite busy.

Also a few other questions for you:
    1. I have decided that I will be ordering the starter kit for myself and my mother. I just finally got a job after about 8 months of unemployement, so it will take a couple weeks. I saw that you also offered the LaPhoona Healthy Scalp Cleanser. Should I order that too and use it considering that I have used the wrong things in my hair for so long, courtesy of my hairdressers’ recommendations and considering that you say it helps to cleanse the scalp?
    2. Right now, I do relax my hair, but one day in the not too distant future, I do want to stop relaxing, will your products support the two stages or what do you recommend in transitioning short of cutting the hair or braiding?
    3. My mom likes to wear wigs at times, can you recommend any good satin hair covers for wig-wear? The satin cover she has, per her, kept sliding off, so she is using this stocking looking one, but I would think that wouldn’t be good for her hair.

I am truly looking forward to being a loyal customer, and I can’t wait to share my wonderful find with everyone I know, after I finish taking the challenge, which I intend on doing. And I ESPECIALLY can’t wait to show off to my sister, who was having hair problems before she moved to New York and found her “needle in the haystack”, who has taught her so much about hair care and makes her own hair care products for her clients.

GOD BLESSS YOU AND YOUR FAM AND BIZ!!!!!

Again sorry for the length of this comment. I am just SO EXCITED and wish I could just talk to you on the phone and just pick your brain. But TRUST ME, you WILL be getting mine and my mom’s business and everybody else I know!!!! YOU ROCK!!!

Hi Stacey. I left you a message the other day about my order. I just checked the status again and it’s been shipped. I think I should receive it today. I’m very excited and ready to start my healthy hair journey. I posted a question last week but didn’t get any response. Is the shampoo/conditioner in the starter kit okay to use on my 17 month old son?

    Hi Tricia -

I’m sorry, I meant to e-mail you back and let you know that yes, you could use the Ultra Lavish Phoo but I prefer the LaPhoono for my daughter and sent a bottle for you to try on your son’s hair.

Please let me know if you like it.

    thanks,
    Stacey

Hi Stacey. Thanks for your reply. I got my started kit today. Yeah! I used the Lavish shampoo and the deep penetrating conditioner today. I love it. Already noticied less hair loss in the shower. I’m air drying my hair right now and I used the daily moisturizer and amazing hair oil in it after I towel dried. I can’t wait to see what it looks/feels like once it’s dry. Usually it’s a big dry looking mess. Will try the Laphoona on my son tomorrow. Do I alternate these 2 shampoos on my hair? Can I use them both with the same washing? What’s the best way to use them? I love the products that I’ve tried so far. I’m so glad I found your site. Thanks for the extras in my package. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on my journey to healthier hair. Thanks again.

    Hi Stacy.

I know that you tend to respond to these posts pretty quickly, so I figured I might get a faster response here. One thing that I have liked about your site is that you seemed to be client-service oriented, so that is why I am trying to find out if there is a system glitch of some kind with response messages and/or posts.

On Thursday, Febraury 19th, I sent an email, thru the Contact Us; I never got a response. On Tuesday, February 24th, I posted a comment here(4 comments up) with some questions, I never got a response. Later, on that same day, February 24th, I tried to put in an order for 2 deluxe starter kits online. I was having problems because the system would not take my payment. I sent an email, again, through the Contact Us, AND, I called and left a message on the 313 number that same Tuesday, and I have not received any callbacks or responses.

I know you say to give responses 24 to 72 hours, so I am just trying to see what might be the delay.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

    Hi Linda –

actually, I did respond to your questions as noted below. I’m going to have to change the 48-72 hours to at my earliest convenience because I am having major growing pains and I think people are under the misconception that I sit at my phone or computer all day long when in fact most of my day is spent making, bottling, labeling and shipping products and most days I don’t finish up until late evenings when I then must spend time with my family.

However, please note below my responses

I want to get two starter kits. Will I be able to get discounts on both, because one will be for me and the other for my mom? And my mom is NOT internet saavy, so, I will attest to her agreement to take the challenge. I have already told her about the products.

    Hi Linda -

the kit price is already discounted so they would both be the same price. However, I recommend that one of you get the Deluxx Starter Kit which comes with the guide.

    Thanks,
    Stacey

    Then again -

    Hi Linda -

I’m sorry, I totally misunderstood your question regarding the discount for
the two Starter Kits. I see that you have a pending order in the system
that was declined and usually it’s when the billing address and mailing
address don’t match up. If the billing address is different than the
address you have in the system, just log in and change your billing address
and then it should go through.

    I apologize for any confusion.

I’m really glad that you like the site and have decided to take the
    challenge.
