Can I purchase S2S products in the store?

Yes, I am proud to announce that most of our products are now available at select Lee's Beauty Supply stores.  See local retailers

Will your products help my hair grow?

Regardless of what you've learned or heard in the past there is no such thing as a magic pill or potion to help your hair grow.  S2S products along with our tested techniques outlined in the S2S Steps to Sensational Hair Guide, will teach you the proper way to care for your hair while our products strengthen your hair, allowing you keep and maintain your hair as it grows out.  Our products help you to optimize your hair growth potential.

My hair won't grow no matter what I do, can your products help me?

Yes, but let me first explain, everyone's hair grows on average of 1/2 inch per month regardless of race or hair texture.  I recommend you purchase a copy of the S2S Hair Guide because you will learn first why it appears your hair is not growing and secondly with the proper care and correct products how to get your hair back on track.  It's about being re-educated how to properly care for our hair.

Why must I use a hooded dryer with your conditioner?

Sitting under a hooded dryer with a plastic cap is the best way to deep condition your hair.  The heat from the dryer swells the hair shaft allowing the conditioner to penetrate the cortex (inner layer) and attached itself making your hair stronger.  Otherwise you are just washing the conditioner down the drain when you rinse.

How long will it take to grow my hair long?

Well that's going to depend on a couple of things, such as the length of your hair currently and how fast your hair grows.  Keep in mind on average hair grows about 1/2 inch per month; some people's hair grows slightly faster and some slower.  So on average you should gain about 1/2 inch per month for a total of possibly 6 inches in a year.  Now that's also going to depend on how well you maintain the new growth you've obtained by conditioning and moisturizing there by optimizing your growth potential.

Must I clip my ends every six to eight weeks in order for my hair to grow long?

The answer to that question is no, no, and NO!  Ladies I know we have been programmed for years to believe that we must clip our ends for our hair to grow.  If that were the case we all would have longer hair because the hair stylist usually clip the mess out of our hair even when we tell them we just want a trim.  I actual wanted to put this to the test so for the first year I didn't clip my ends, and guess what?  My hair grew (see my photo gallery).  I'm now going into my third year and I haven't clipped my ends since May of 2004, and guess what?  My hair is even longer!  I'm not saying that we never need to clip our ends because a nice trim makes the hair look nice and manicured but let's be clear it's not necessary to grow our hair!

Did your hair grow that long simply because you were pregnant?

You know, I get this question asked of me all of the time so I thought I would add it to my list of FAQ'S.  The answer is no!  Actually it's kind of funny because if you think about it, you see African American women pregnant every day of the week, does that mean that all of a sudden in 9 months their hair grew down their back?  If this were the case then women of color could grow their hair long simply from being pregnant; then we should all have long hair.  But the fact is that although pregnancy causes an over flow of hormones and your hair can benefit from it in many ways you will not wake up with long hair simply from being pregnant.  I have long hair because of all of the tips that I've laid out in my hair tips section.  I have been working towards my goal for two plus years now.    My S2S deep conditioner helps to keep my hair strong and healthy so as it grows it wont break off which is the main reason women of color can't achieve any length.

Do you have good hair?

Let me start off by stating that I really hate that terminology "good hair!"  Do I have naturally curly hair? NO!  Does it draw up when it gets wet? Yes, if it weren't for this relaxer Lord knows what would happen!  It makes me angry sometimes to hear us degrade ourselves when it comes to our hair and our skin color.  Just because my hair isn't curly doesn't make it bad.  Do I sometimes wish that I had that naturally curly hair?  Yes, but I'm starting to realize that we are never satisfied with what we have.  We always think the grass in greener on the other side.  I have a friend who does have naturally curly hair and she has some of the same issues I have and my hair is longer and just as nice if not nicer than hers! So ladies, let's stop thinking in terms of good and bad.  I know, I know it's been beat into us for years to believe the kinkier the worse the hair will be, but actually in my research I have found that the kinkier the hair the more fragile it is and it needs the most tender loving care.

I Have Braids in my hair; can I still use your products?

Yes, absolutely!  The hair that is used to braid our hair is very drying; it actually steals the moisture from our hair leaving it dry and prone to breakage.  I highly recommend you use the S2S Deep Penetrating conditioner each and every time you take the braids out prior to having them rebraided.  While the braids are in your hair use the S2S Daily Oil Moisturizer and the "Amazing" Hair Oil every day to keep the hair moisturized.  If done properly, braids can be used as an effective "protective style" helping you grow out your hair and reach your hair care goals (see hair tips)

What makes S2S products so different than other products?

I'm glad that you asked that question.  First of all we take the FUBU philosophy, which is FOSTA, from one sizta to another.  Our products were developed by women of color for women of color.  We took into consideration many of the problems we face with our hair such as dryness, tangles, breakage, shine, and body and put it into a bottle. I think this is so important because you have so many companies and products that were develop by Caucasians who can't even begin to imagine our trials and tribulations when it comes to our hair!  For instance Pantene Relaxed and Natural is a Caucasian company that decided they wanted to break into the African American hair care industry.  I have personally tried their products as I do many of the products on the market so I can know my competition and I was not impressed.  I am an African American woman who has struggled with my own personal hair issues much like many women of color, and through those experiences S2S was born.  Therefore we use the highest quality ingredients at the highest levels then our products are tested on other women of color before placing them on the market.  Simply put, S2S products work!  For more information check out why S2S

Are you totally against going to hair stylist?

No, not at all!  I guess I've just really had a lot of bad experiences with stylist.  From, cutting my hair to short or just asking to have my ends clipped and getting a cut.  Oh, what about bringing in a picture of a style you really want and instead of them saying they can't do that style; you end up with something totally different from the picture.   Or what about having your hair burned out and not realizing it until you decided to do your hair at home one time and realize a chunk was missing?  There is a really bad experience that I will share with you at a later time that happen this past September going to a local shop that supposedly specializes in healthy hair, they jacked me up (look for the story near the first of the year).  I do believe there are stylists out there that know how to care for healthy hair but my question to you is; are you willing to continue to stake your hair's health and length on finding a needle in a haystack?

What are your personal thoughts or feelings about weaves?

Well, as I noted in my story, I use to be considered the weave queen to my friends.  Although, I never really wore a sew in weave because for some reason the string or thread used to sew it in always broke off my hair. I would wear other styles such as braids, ponytails, latch hook; invisible braids....everything but my own hair.  I don't personally dislike weaves as long as they are done well.  However, I think if given the opportunity most African American women would rather have natural long healthy hair.  And that's why I think that Sizta 2 Sizta - S2S products along with the information outlined in our website will be able help women achieve what was once thought to be impossible!

Are S2S products PH balanced?

Yes, all of our products are PH tested and adjusted for a ph of 7, which is considered neutral, the same as water.

What led you to start the Sizta 2 Sizta Website and make your own hair care products?

Well, actually there were a few determining factors which finally led me to start Sizta 2 Sizta and the S2S products.  Where it all started, of course was from pure aggravation of my hair.  I was so tired of the viscous cycle of growing a little hair then it breaking off because of not knowing what to do or how to care for my hair.  Once I started doing hours upon hours of research I came across a couple of sites that had some good information but they were charging for this information and they were charging a pretty penny.  Then I humbled up on this wonderful hair care product that I loved and my hair really started to respond to it but it was so expensive ($10 for a 8oz bottle of conditioner) by the time I shipped it here I ended up paying almost $20.00 for one stinking bottle of conditioner.  Needless to say, who can afford that? I couldn't!    Ladies, this fueled me for two years as I slowly put my information and Website together and put my products in the testing stage.  I was determined to get this information out to women of color everywhere.  In addition, I wanted to make sure that I offered superior products at prices that everyone could afford.  I believe that we as black women shouldn't be so hard on other black women and extend our hand and hearts to lift one another up!  I would also like to take this opportunity to give honor, glory and thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  He made a way and led me when I didn't know which way to turn!

Isn't it a fact that your genetics determines how long your hair can grow?

Good questions.  The answer is yes and no. Let me explain.  Yes, extremely long hair is hereditary however, the average person such as you and I can grow hair anywhere from 14 to 26 inches.  If you think about it, for women of color anything below the shoulder can be considered long because it's not something you see every day.  Some people may think that I have extremely long hair but it's actually in the 26-inch range (I haven't measured for about six or so months) although it may be slightly longer now.

How long before I see results from using your products?

You will notice an immediate difference in the feel, texture and strength of your hair.  As for your length, if you are using my hair growth tips along with the S2S product line you will notice a difference within your second month.  Make sure to take before and after pictures because in the beginning it's hard to tell a difference with the naked eye but when you look at your pictures you it will encourage and motivate you to keep going.

My hair is thinning what can I use to add thickness or volume to my hair?

Well, if your hair is thinning it can be from a number of things such as appliance abuse or chemical abuse.  I suggest taking Biotin, which really works on giving the hair more volume, but the most important thing you need to do is stop abusing the heat and chemicals and gets the S2S products that are going to assist in helping the health and length of your hair.  Then follow the instructions in the hair growth tips and before you know it you will start adding inches.

Are your products safe for children to use?

Yes, yes and yes!  I have an 18 month old daughter who came out with a head full of hair which can get rather dry, so of course I'm gonna use my products that I know are safe.  As a matter of fact it has been kind of challenging for me because I have a thirteen-year-old son and never thought I would have a girl.  I am determined to pass along all of my techniques so she will be ahead of the game and I will make sure she has the long hair that I never had as a child!

Do you have to wear you hair in a bun or protective style to grow it long?

No, it's not necessary to wear your hair in a protective style to gain length.  However, you do need to specifically follow the hair grow tips when it comes to washing, conditioning, styling tools, etc.

I'm completely natural; can I still use your products?

Definitely! I have several all-natural customers including my son and daughter.  My daughter's hair is extremely dry and without the Daily oil moisturizer and oil I would never be able to comb her hair.  The products detangle and make your hair soft and manageable regardless if you are natural or texturized like myself.

Do you know of any natural relaxers that are safe?

There are quite a few natural relaxers out there, but none that I would feel comfortable recommending.  I have not personally tired any natural relaxers since my encounter with the "Rio Natural Relaxer" back in the early 90's.  I have heard so good things about the Phyto relaxer, but I have not personally tried it so I recommend that you do your research.  Also, make sure it's been around for a while so you will be able to get feedback over a period of time.

How do you use the Deep Penetrating Conditioning and the Halt Breakage Control?

Both the Deep Penetrating Conditioner and the Halt Breakage Control are protein conditioners and should not be used together
simultaneously.  The Deep Penetrating should be used weekly sitting under a hooded dryer for maintenance use.  The Halt is for when you notice breakage (small little pieces of hair) in the sink or all over your clothes.  I also recommend using the Halt after your relaxer touch ups to help restore and replenish the hair that was just broken down.

Can you explain how I do a apple cider vinegar rinse (ACV)?

Apple cider vinegar rinse is a simple and gentle way of removing build up on the hair that comes from using hair care products that leave a residue on the hair that shampoo does not remove.  Products that use a lot of cones usually leave build up on the hair (s2s products don't have cones in them).  I do an apple cider vinegar rinse about once a month by taking a large pop or soda bottle (64 ounces) and pour 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and fill the remaining bottle with warm water.  After shampooing my hair (prior to deep conditioning) I pour the mixture over my head, then I continue to rinse my hair for about 3-4 mins to make sure it has been completely rinsed from my hair.  I then proceed to deep conditioning under a hood dryer or with my thermal wrap.  I've been asked on many occasion about the vinegar leaving a scent behind, I assure you that there is no smell or scent from the vinegar what so ever.
